About Us

Welcome to NineStar Press. We’re a boutique publisher of quality LGBTQA romance, erotica, and literary fiction, and we’re located in New Mexico, USA.

NineStar Press is an LGBTQA publisher owned and managed by LGBTQA people. We adore romance and erotic romance, but we also have an enormous interest in showcasing amazing literary works about characters less represented in fiction: ace, aro, trans*, nonbinary, genderfluid, bi, pan, etc. We also like genre-bending fiction, fusion genre, and stories that don’t quite fit into a particular category.

Barb is a semi-retired Pennsylvania transplant, now enjoying the fresh air and sunshine
of Florida. Reading is her passion, and other than the works of a few long-time favorite
mystery and action-adventure authors, she pretty much exclusively reads LGBTQ
literature and holds a special spot in her heart for MM romance.

A blog-site reviewer and audiobook enthusiast, Barb loves words and enjoys the
challenge of finding the best adjective, adverb, noun, or verb to paint a picture readers
will long remember.

When she’s not reading or editing, she also enjoys walking her little cockapoo, Dora,
riding her bike, or participating in bowling leagues with fellow seniors.

Elizabeth C.
Elizabeth Coldwell is a multi-published author and the former editor of the UK edition of Forum magazine, where she was responsible for publishing a number of now very well-known authors for the first time, as well as honing her own writing.

She lives in East London, is a season ticket holder at Rotherham United, and a keen cook. Her recipe for peanut butter brownies is available if you ask nicely…

I live in northern California, and I love to travel, sing, hike in the redwoods, and hang out with family. I’m a die-hard Giants fan. I’ve been known to yell choice language at the screen or car radio during a game.

One of my earliest childhood memories is of figuring out how to read, sounding out the word “Picnic” on an old movie poster. The word just sounded so cool and clicked in my mouth and conjured fun images. It’s why I love writing and editing— manipulating words to get them to do what we want. Word-nerd, that’s me; it’s been a life-long love affair.

I’m so happy to be part of the NineStar Press editing staff, helping to pass the passion on to others.

If there’s one thing you must know about Sam, it’s that she’s just a little bit weird – but in a totally balanced way. She’s a social activist with a love for animals and a master’s degree in helping people. She loves to read and write, and while she’s all for a sunshine at the end of the tunnel, she enjoys the bumpy journey that it takes to get there. Sam lives on the East Coast with her dog, and if there’s an animal nearby, she’s probably somewhere close too. Her favorite color is purple, and she believes that her job as an editor is to help an author make their story shine. Have questions? She doesn’t (usually) bite, so please feel free to send her an e-mail!

Copy Editors/Proofreaders

April fell in love with books the moment she read The Borrowers by Mary Norton. Reading brought the world to the small-town Ontario girl. It enabled her to travel safely through the jungles and swamps of South America, stroll the Avenue des Champs-Élysées in Paris, through various time periods in British history without losing her head and gave her sleuthing abilities akin to those of Agatha Christie. She always has a book close at hand and can often be found tucked in her favourite chair with her shadow aka small fluffy black dog, and a cup of tea.
AshleyProofreader/Copy Editor
Ashley’s love for writing began before she can remember. If there was a piece of paper around, she was likely writing a story or a poem on it. Her love for reading came much later—thanks mainly to her father’s own required summer reading lists. But the two didn’t come together until she was in high school. Given the chance to put both to work, Ashley found herself becoming a published author, poet, and even journalist for numerous high school publications both locally and nationwide. She’d been bitten and there was no stopping her.

Ashley lives deep in the heart of Texas with her two chihuahuas, a Corgi-Terrier mix she adopted from her mom when she passed away, and her big fat cat, Cleo, who rules the house with her mighty claws. She spends her days editing, writing, reading, and repeat. Ashley couldn’t ask for a better life.

Julia has never met a used bookstore she didn’t like. (Seriously, it’s kind of a chronic problem.) Work-wise, she is a writer, editor, reviewer, adjunct professor, social media manager, and about six other things, but she enjoys fiction-related projects most. Other faves include black-and-white monster movies, red wine, and baseball (go Orioles!). She lives in Maryland, not very far from the Chesapeake Bay, with her family and two cats.
Kody lives in a small town in Alabama with her husband, their sons, and several special needs pets. She loves reading (romance, mystery, light novels, anything really…), coffee, D&D, peanut m&ms, YouTube let’s plays, coffee, silver and purple, sparkly things, cheese, coffee… She runs a website/blog and sometimes even remembers to update it. www.akakody.com
KristinCopy Editor
Kristin is a born-and-bred Midwestern American and devoted reader (and sometimes writer) of LGBTQA fiction. Her favorite things in the world are shoes, video games, and her bratty cat and grumpy hedgehog. Her least favorite are typos, places without Wi-Fi, and stealth onions in her food.
LizCopy Editor/Proofreader
Liz Borino has been immersed in the publishing industry since 2010. She’s edited for everyone from bestselling independent authors to authors getting their start with a small press. In addition, she has published several books herself. Liz is owned by two cats. On the rare occasions that she’s able to pry herself away from them, Liz enjoys traveling, visiting abandoned prisons, and attending Broadway musicals.
SeraCopy Editor/Proofreader
Sera Trevor has been a fan of gay romance from probably too early an age. (You know those buttons on certain websites that you have to click to verify you’re over eighteen? She would totally click them before she was eighteen. Please don’t tell her parents.)

She lives in California with her laptop, Kindle, and several hundred books. Also, she has some kids and a husband.

ST Sterlings
ST SterlingsProofreader
S.T. Sterlings is an author of YA, MG, and adult fiction. She currently works as an academic librarian and volunteers as a managing editor, copyeditor, and proofreader for a scholarly library journal. When she isn’t writing, she’s either reading, watching anime, or watching horror movies.

A native to Virginia, she moved to Southern California four years ago with her two sons and later added two childlike German Shepherd dogs to her family. She is friendly, helpful, and terrified of moths. She has an obsession with makeup and an impressive eyeshadow collection.

She has a soft spot for fiction featuring bi/pan characters and loves stories that end happily.

TeJai has loved reading since she was a little girl. She enjoys reading many books and allowing her imagination to take her to the far away lands she was reading about. She always has a book in her hand when she has a chance to hide away and read. When she isn’t reading, she can be found doing one of her many fun things from playing video games to playing the drums to cooking. She can also be found working on her book review blog and working towards her BA in Creative Writing. Mostly, she truly loves spending time with her wife Rachel and their three dogs: Penni, Jupiter and Bleu.

Tonna learned to read at a very young age and found herself immersed in the world of words. She could often be found reading in the closet with a flashlight so her parents wouldn’t know she was up past her bedtime. One more chapter, honest! She is a controversy of styles. She loves fantasy and magic and sparkly things, but also zombies, horror, skulls and those chills that race up your spine from a good scary story. She lives in Alabama with an alarmingly large number of cats that all seem intent on being part of the proofreading action.
